In the past with other women I’ve always attained erections after we began having sex, but my wife seems to think penetration would be easier (she is very very short and small) if I had an erection beforehand.

Isn’t the whole purpose of sex to get an erection which eventually culminates in ejaculation? Why bother having sex at all if you can get an erection without it?
